Your gift enables the Lakeshore Nature Preserve to protect its distinctive natural and cultural features while meeting the teaching, research, and outreach mission of the university. Gift funds provide experiential, hands-on learning opportunities for students; applied work experience for emerging natural resource professionals and student employees; the facilitation of more than 75 teaching and research projects annually by students, faculty, and staff; and stewardship of more than 300 acres of woodlands, prairie, and wetlands. The preserve additionally serves an invaluable role as a place for respite and well-being with more than 10 miles of trails and gathering spaces, and myriad opportunities to engage with nature right on campus. With your help, we can ensure the future of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve for generations of Badgers to come.
